Notes

3” ribbing at bottom (rather than 4”)

Was craving a mindless project and this simple, classic cardi with linear detail fit the bill.

Bottom up; working the body in one piece.

Lovely yarn. Blocking smooths the surface and provides the drape. Knitted at my gauge the fabric is lightweight but warm.

The color isn’t easy to capture in photos. It’s a cool, mineral, rusty red, like red ochre or red henna.

The sleeves are too long so I will need to push them up a lot. Haha! I should have “ignored” the schematic and used my typical sleeve length. Ah, well…

Vintage buttons found on Etsy.

After wearing the cardi twice, once with a white tee and once with an ivory mock turtle neck, both times the red dye crocked onto the white or ivory garment. Grrrr! (They dye did wash out of these garments.)

There was some bleeding of dye during the blocking process. I will be sure to use white vinegar in the rinse water and hope that helps. Stay tuned… confused

Another note regarding the yarn. The yarn label lists 50 g per skein/171 yds. NOT 25 g per skein…

Dye problems and sleeve length notwithstanding, I love wearing this cardi.
