Notes

Love the ashy tones of this yarn but don’t want to use this for socks. A shawl, therefore, it is…

Even after adding several rows of garter and then lattice, in order to use up as much yarn from the skein as possible, the finished piece seems small right off the needles. Blocking helped a lot. I have enough yarn remaining to make a pair of tassels; swiping this idea from Temple916.

An easy knit. If I make this again, I will use larger needles and also knit the increases along the spine through the back loop to help close up the holes. I’m not all that crazy about the way such an open spine looks.

I used up all the leftovers to make the tassels and added one red thread to each.

This shawl is an homage to those with brain cancer and the red thread is a reminder of the blood-brain barrier that makes chemo so challenging as an effective agent in fighting malignant tissue.

Lovely, soft yarn, best used (IMO) for accessories rather than socks.

I’ve made tassels before, but if anyone is looking for some help making them, this tutorial is similar to the method I used.
