I knitted most of this while at a Girardian conference in Chicago, using yarn from a frogged cowl (DaVinci Cowl). I loved that cowl pattern but this was the wrong yarn base to use for such a project. It is much better as a shawl.

The shawl’s name refers to René Girard and his work which is gradually becoming more widely known. I think his mimetic theory is more important than ever in understanding and offering a non-violent alternative to how humans can live together.
