Notes

Have had this pattern on my list for ages and I’m tickled to finally start! It was a very thoughtful gift from Maizibet on Ravelry. Thinking it’s pretty easy and will go quickly.

The pattern calls for a YO with three wraps in each stitch every few rows but I didn’t care for that much openness with this yarn so I’m only doing two wraps per stitch. I also found the cable cast on was much better (more flexible) for the initial cast on rather than long tail…

The yarn is lovely slipping through the fingers but the dye on this skein crocks like crazy, turning my fingers and nails pink after only a short bit of knitting. Hoping I can set the color a bit better and/or rinse out the excess dye before actually wearing it or it will turn white things quite pink.

I added two additional repeats of the center section for length and because I know I have plenty of yarn.

I used Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off (knit sts only) for the final BO and also knit the very last two sts together in this BO to help give that final edge a smooth line.

One friend insists this yarn makes it look much more like Japanese Maple leaves. Who can argue with that?? Either way, I love it! :-)
