Was referencing this pattern for an especially great “Knit the Look” on Fringe Association today, needed something mindless to do at a crafty social event last night, and had this yarn in my stash. I knit it from start to finish during the gathering, while socializing. Go super bulky!

I did not have a short US17 handy so did the whole hat on US15, rather than sizing up after the ribbing. I also added one decrease round (ssk’d the center sts of each cable) before cinching the top closed — seemed like way too many stitches as written. It’s a really great hat. Only change I might make if knitting it again is to space out the cable rounds a bit.

The pattern doesn’t state gauge or measurements, so I figured this would be a giveaway based on its final size. But mine came out at a 20-inch brim (unstretched, unblocked) and 8.5 inches tall, and suits me perfectly!
