Notes

The pattern looks like it’s going to be really complicated, but I was pleasantly surprised by how easy the pattern is!

I adore Shilasdair. It took my forever to choose a suitable yarn. The recommended yarns weren’t for me. Tvinni is £20 a skein and when you need 3 but will only use half of each it’s a bit much. The other recomended yarn is Woolmeise and I don’t really like it - sorry I know that lots of people adore it. Yes, the colours are stunning, but I’m not a fan of variated yarns and the finish isn’t soft enough for me.

Shilasdair gives a very similar finish to Tvinni but comes in smaller skeins so is much more cost effective. I went for luxury DK rather than thier 4 ply because the colours in stock were nicer. The DK is really a very light DK and isn’t very much different for the 4 ply anyway!

Oh my word! When you’re nearing the end, the purl rows make you lose the will to live!!

I decided to go for the larger shawl nut gave up after reaching 405 sts. At this point I worked 3 rows of Pattern section 1, instead of two and then started the edging.

Hurray. The interminable shawl is now finished!! :D. It’s worth it too!
