04/15/12 - Where it is now: I gifted it to my grandmother long ago because it was all her favorite colors. She just passed away earlier this month, and was buried with this shawl on her, so it will keep her warm in Heaven <3
06/03/10 - I did a really bad job measuring, but before blocking it was approx 1.5 ft by 4.5 ft, and after blocking it’s about 2.25 feet by 5 ft. I could have made it bigger but I really like the fabric as is. I’m very pleased with my new shawl-thing!
05/29/10 - All done knitting! I finished with less than a yard of yarn left, I was sweating a little as I bound off. Now I just need to wait for my blocking wires to show up in the mail so I can block it. FO photos coming whenever the wires show up.
05/25/10 - Thanks to a gal at the LYS, my shawl is back on track! She worked some straight magic, it was really cool to see. Lesson learned: never start a new project when you’re really angry at another one. Also, use lifelines.
Sadly, I found another boo-boo, one that I’ll have to live with or rip all the way back and start over. On one edge, I was knitting where I should have been purling. Le sigh. I don’t think it’ll be noticeable when the shawl is worn though, so it’ll be okay.
05/16/10 - Somehow managed to drop a stitch. In the process of trying to pick it back up, managed to lose 2 more somewhere along the way. Can’t figure out how to pick up a row to start going again. Might upset. This is supposed to be my “easy, relaxing, stress free project” and I’m so frustrated by this and everything else going on that it makes me not feel like knitting ever again :|
05/15/10 - Quick easy knitting, this shawl is already much wider than I expected.. blocking it gonna make this sucker huge. I’m excited. I hope it winds up long enough.
05/14/10 -Cast on 38 stitches and am using biggity needles for a super open, air-y shawl kind of thing.
