Takes a while to get the hang of the nupps, but the pattern was easy to memorize. After having to start over twice, I learned to use lifelines at the end of each pattern repeat. I blocked hard but the alpaca doesn’t hold the blocked shape as firmly as I would like; it relaxed a bit too much. Still beautiful (and so soft!) but the next Estonian lace I knit will be wool. In retrospect I should have known the alpaca would be loosey-goosey. I have a shapeless saggy alpaca sweater, which I love because it is soft and light and warm, but also hate because it is shapeless and saggy.
