Marie wanted a bright hat to wear hiking during hunting season, and picked Scarlet Letter. (Lucy later pointed out we’d better hope no hikers are color blind… oh well.)

This pattern is different to most of the cable patterns I’m used to, in that the rest rows aren’t just knit the knits and purl the purls; it took a little bit for me to get into the swing of things.

The hat was entirely knit while traveling out to visit Andromeda and during her naps.
