Notes

Designer, Jennifer Wood is an absolute genius when it comes to romantic sweaters featuring lace and cables. It’s always exciting to see what she’ll come up with next. Top-down and seamless construction make all of her designs a joy to knit. There are never any complicated stitches. and her patterns are always thoroughly tech edited and test knitted. I feel very privileged to be one of her regular testers.

This pullover was knitted with 2 yarns held together just as in the designer’s sample. It can just as easily be knitted with one yarn as long as you match gauge. When choosing 2 yarns that will be knitted together, I find that I get a much richer looking color if the shades are slightly different or even quite different.

Here’s link to the cobweb/lace yarn.

Here’s another link to the same yarn.

Things I did differently:

  • Knitted the body until 9” length from underarm, then started the lower band which measures 3” high per the pattern recommendation. Total length from underarm = 12 inches.

  • For all bind-offs, I used Jeny’s SSBO with size 3 US needle. Total sleeve length from underarm = 18.25 inches (including the 4” long ribbed cuff).

Fit is perfect. Sawyer likes her sleeves extra long to cover her hands in part. The knitted fabric is light as a cloud, but very warm. Such a pretty, feminine looking design!
