Notes

It’s always an honor to test for Katy Tricot. LOVE her designs and well written patterns which include both charts and written instructions. This was such a quick project. I even made another one for a child in just one evening!

The yarn I used is not the softest 100% wool. However, the heathered colors are pretty. This leafy hat design lends itself to an earthy, warm green. The yarn is rather “rustic” which makes it hard to get nice even stitches, even after blocking.

I accidentally made the brim all twisted rib. The pattern only uses twisted rib for the set-up round. The rest of the brim is done in regular 1 x 1 ribbing.

Needles used:

Size 3 US - Ribbing
Size 6 US - The rest of the hat

Weight of finished hat: 2.75 oz

This is my very favorite tubular cast on (in the round) demonstrated by Suzanne Bryan. It’s super stretchy and very easy:
