Another mindless project, but the stitch looks nice on both sides of the scarf. Had to wip up something quick for Mandy’s birthday. Her favorite color is purple. You can see how the scarf looks on both sides in the second picture which is Mandy modeling. That’s me in the first picture. I realize that the scarf doesn’t go with what I’m wearing. Just had to introduce Mandy’s adorable 7-year-old son, Aaron.

I cast on only 26 stitches, because I wanted to make the scarf extra long for a “Twist and Pull” tie technique:

Very soft yarn. Machine washable and dryable. Mandy won’t fuss with laundry.

Yardage is not given on the ball band. However, I was able to knit 24 inches (61 cm) of scarf with one ball (26 sts cast on). So 3 balls = 72 inches (183 cm). The fringe took another half ball or perhaps a little more. I made a video showing how I made this fringe:

The only difference for this scarf is that I made only 4 tendrils per tassel due to the heavier worsted weight yarn. Also, I only did 8 triple crochet stitches for the ball above each tassel.

Note that her fringe method is very different than the one I used. My fringe will never ravel out or tangle, but her method is quicker and uses less yarn.
