Just winging it with this project.

I did not do an APPLIED i-cord edging. However, I started my i-cord with a provisional cast on like this.

I picked up the following number of stitches for the i-cord edging:

Armholes - 100 - 106 sts each

Neckline - 223 sts

When picking up sts for the i-cord, I used the following ratios:

Live sts = 1 to 1

I skipped every 6th st for the remaining stitches picked up. If I knit this again, I might pick up 1:1 for everything. Alternatively, I could knit the straps a few rows longer.

Note that the i-cord will tighten up the arm and neck openings considerably due to the smaller needles and pick-up ratios.

When picking up stitches for the i-cord edging, the front and back edges will each have one additional row knitted, raising them up very slightly. Then I-cord starts on the following round.

Start i-cord edging under the arms and at the top of one shoulder for the neckline. Then graft the i-cord together to join. I-cord is worked with the wrong side facing, but stitches are picked up with the right side facing. Makes for a very neat and narrow edging viewed from the right side.

Needles used:

Size 1.5 US - Lower ribbing

Size 3 US - Body and straps

Size 2 US - I-cord (DPNS)
