Notes

Reversible Scarves and Cowls are my favorites. This stitch pattern looks equally good on both sides. It’s a super easy 8-stitch pattern repeat so easy to adjust length or width to your personal preference.

I used a size 10 US needle for this cowl which makes a very firm fabric with this super chunky yarn. The yarn label suggests size 15 US needle which would result in a more drapey fabric. Next time I’ll probably use that or something closer. I’m very pleased with the resulting cowl though. It came out pretty close to the dimensions in the pattern for the longer version. This yarn is 98% alpaca, so very soft and warm. My row gauge was shorter, so the cowl is only 7 inches wide which is plenty wide enough. It’s long enough to wrap around the neck twice for a woman. Lengthen this for a man if you desire two wraps. My measurements are for the unblocked cowl. After wet blocking, it would be easy to stretch it higher which would then create a smaller circumference around. It depends on how you prefer wearing it - looped twice around the neck or unwrapped. I think I prefer unwrapped.
