Don’t like garter, so I’m using seed stitch instead. Tried using a centered double decrease instead of the given double decrease, but I didn’t like how the sections were more harshly divided by the solid column of cdd, so I ripped back. Following pattern as written, except for the last decrease of the row, which I changed to skp to match the k2tog at the beginning.

One ball = 19 inches, unblocked in natural state (lain flat, but not stretched or pulled in any way).

roughly 19” unblocked, roughly 23 inches pinned out for measurement (fairly aggressively, while still keeping the stockinette smooth).

The more I knit this, the more I wish I would have made the border wider; at least 5 stitches instead of 2.

24/8/13 - Finished knitting and awaiting blocking! That’s going to be difficult though, seeing as it’s currently 59 inches, and I’m expecting it to grow to about 70 inches.

1/9/13 - Wow did this grow! I blocked it a bit more aggressively than the swatch. 75 inches long by 8.5 inches wide. I’m super pleased with it. It lays very flat, and it’s nice and soft. Very light and airy, which I didn’t expect. The balled yarn must have had a residue that washed off, because the finished scarf feels lighter thn it did preblocking.
