Notes

I decided to check Rose-Kim’s shawl percentage calculator to estimate how far along I was. Since her calculator is for a triangular shawl and the tablecloth is circular I doubled the number of rows. According to that I am about 96% finished.

12/28/09 This is from/Volume 31 of Elizabeth Hiddleson’s original designs. It is a filet tablecloth titled June and has butterflies and roses on it. I started this in Sept 09 but put it aside to make Christmas gifts. I got started again Dec 23 and have already completed the center.

01/17/10 Boy there sure is a lot of difference in a project that has been blocked. The 1st photo is after I blocked it the 2nd one is before. Looks so much better. This is the center of the tablecloth. You had to finish off and tie on at another spot in order to do the 2nd part.

5/6/10 I am on the last row of the roses. Will be starting the long rows soon. I plan on changing the section above the butterflies it looks like a skull to me in the picture. I want to try and put in a ladybug but we will see.

I really like EH tablecloths this will be my 3rd. I did the Pineapple Lei and the Princess Tablecloth. I have 4 daughters and would like to leave each one of them a hand made tablecloth.

1/30/2011 I’m on the last row of the roses hope to work on this more regularly but it is a large tablecloth so it will probably take awhile to finish especially seeing I have tons of projects going.

1/31/2012 I finally picked this up again after a year hiatus. I have finished the roses and am on the rows before the butterflys. I’m on row 79(note I think there is a typo where it says ch in sh, I think it should be sh in sh. This is the only thing that makes since by the pictures.) There are a few other notes that I have made on my pattern that just didn’t work out unless you watched the pictures. Which is what Elizabeth Hiddleson says to do. I have 34 rounds left to finish. Each round takes longer to complete usually at least a day. My daughter says she will probably be getting married in a couple of years so I would like to finish it for her by then. I just have to work on it regularly.

3/10/12 I’ve been working on this trying to finish and decided to leave out the sections between the clusters on rows 80 through 91. Got to row 86 and realized something was off. I pulled out back to 75 to try and correct the problem, then looking through the pattern I realized written directions for row 77 were missing. I will try and follow the the pictures for that row and see if I can get back on track. If not I’ll just have to fudge it. This constitued a couple of weeks work. Not a happy camper.

3/20/12 I am finally back to row 85 where I was before I had to pull out 10 rows. Now to get to the butterflies.

8/2/17 I haven’t worked on this for 5 years. Finally pulled it out and looked at it. I had started the butterflys but after spending a whole day doing a round something was off. Looked at the pictures and realized I had to rip 3 full rows. My count was off in the center of the butterfly. No wonder I put it away.

8/16/17 Only 7 rounds left to go. Yahoo.
8/24/17 Finally on the last round. Will be done tomorrow.
8/25/17 I am officially finished with my June tablecloth.

Notes: Here’s my take on row 77. Shell over shell, * ch 6 bar, lacet (2 ch 6 bars, lacet)2x, (2 ch 6 bars)2x, Shell over shell, (2 ch 6 bars , lacet)3x ch 6, shell over shell repeat from *

On rows 80 through 89 I just put shells over shells and bars over lacets and lacets over bars since I skipped the 6 tr in row 81 and the ch 2 and 7 tr in row 88. Row 89 I put shells over shells and bars over lacets and lacets over bars.

On row 90 I worked the beg of the row as written then I skipped the 13 tr in 13 sts. and instead did ch 5, tr in sc of nx. lacet, ch 5, tr in nx. tr. (Bar, lacet)2x, ch 3, sc under nx ch 6, ch3 work over shell same as beg.

Row 91 I started the row as written then I did 4 lacets for the (a ch 2 sp and the 7 tr in 7, a ch 2 sp) then did bar, a lacet and a bar then ended the row as written.
