PATTERN NOTES:
It’s all rather random and by the seat of my pants, with Janine’s pattern for guidance, of course. Here’s what I know for sure:
•Besides the center red, I’m using a rotation/combination of six colors for the six large squares.
•The red is only used for the center of the six squares and for the “intersections” of the connecting striped bands.
•The brighter orange/yellow is only be used for the six large squares.
The stripey strips are knit using a rotation of 14-15 colors; thus not every color is used in every strip, but there is enough repetition to make it cohesive, and variety to keep it interesting. There are also some wild color shifts in some of the yarns.
I’m also using several partial (how much is more than a scrap?) and even some full “orphan” skeins.
I knit a “game board” border with mitered corners around the entire blanket.
