Started on the cruise when I ran out of knitting on the top I brought. Gotta love the Kindle as I found a simple lace st (Gull Wings) to modify.
Combined with the 5 shapes shawl cheat sheet I was off and running. Right now this is mindless knitting and will allow me to stretch my designing skills when I have to come up with an edge to finish it off.
October 27 - this sat in time out for the longest time as I had the vision of finishing it will an elaborate edge and worked out a plan for frost flowers which I then tried on several wash cloths without success.
Finally I decided that the strong lines would look good with a bold but simpler design. This allowed me to pick it up and keep working even in the dark on the drive home, so it is underway again after a long time out.
November 14 Finished the edging with the lace from Elina shawl edge. Did not have enough yarn for the whole thing so did first 6 rows then all but the very last row. Had about a meter or two left at the end.
In blocking I discovered I had slipped a stitch. It ran back a few rows. Will have to see if it will be fixable or if I need to reknit the last 4-5 rows. Final decision is that this will be a fix as it has been barely noticeable even with the stitch marker I put in to keep it from running back more.
