5-29-13: ripped out almost completed project which was on size 3 needles and cast on using long tail cast on, using variegated yarn as MC on size 5 needles.

I am taking the suggestion of other knitters and am adding a yarn over between the 1st & 2nd stitches of each row, dropping it on the following row for a looser edge.

I am sticking with the M1L & M1R rather than KFB that many others are using. I really like the look of the edging with the M1’s.

I am using this technique to carry the yarns.

2-26-13: long tail cast on

Notes: I have read many of the different tips that other knitters have provided for this project, but:
1) I have decided to NOT go with the mod of adding YO’s at the ends of each row and dropping them on the following rows - I am just making sure I am knitting loosely at the ends. I do have slight puckering of the fabric, but this will block out. I want to maintain the curvature of the neck line.
2) I also am sticking with the M1L & M1R rather than KFB that many others are using. I really like the look of the edging with the M1’s. I think it’s very decorative.

2-27-13: I am using this technique to carry the yarns. It is making for a very nice edging.

5-29-13: I have finished the tri-color section and am ready to begin the solid border. However, I am going to RIP out and re-knit on size 5 needles and add a YO between the first & second stitch of each row (dropping said YO on following row).
