09/28/2023: Gauge, CO & Short rows

using my cubic interchangeable Knitter’s Pride Joy of Knitting needles and my interchangeable Lykke Blush 3.5” needles

I got 4 sts/1” for both needles below, but will use the shorter needles for the sleeves when I have the smaller circumference. Cubic needles knit at a larger size because of their cubic nature. In my case here, my gauge on the size 11 cubics matched my gauge on the size 10.5 regular needles.

Because my gauge is a little off from the pattern, I’m going to knit a size 3 to get a size a little bit bigger than size 1 - about 43.5”.

• Joy of Knitting size 11 (8.0mm)-body
• Blush 3.5” size 10.5 (6.5mm)-sleeves
• Blush 3.5” size 10 (6.0mm)-hem, cuff & neck ribbing

I’m starting with a 24” cable and 3.5” Blush needles; US 10.5 (6.5mm); long tail CO; 80 sts (because of the smaller circumference; my Joy of Knitting needles are too long at this point to comfortably join in the round to begin the sweater).
