Notes

I made this shawl for my mother to replace one I had lost. She had this amazing soft black shawl, boucle yarn, just beautiful. I was in a play about the Holocaust, and we used it for part of a costume. After the last show, it went missing and we never found it again. My mother was devastated - it was the perfect shawl. Perfect size, perfect weight, went with everything, looked both dressy and was perfect for keeping warm in the winter. After I learned how to knit, 4 years after I had lost her shawl, I decided to recreate it. I had no idea how to make a triangle shawl, but I didn’t know that improvising was supposed to be hard. I came up with a perfect match for what her shawl had been, but she tells me this one is even better because I made it for her.
