Notes

You know the way that sunlight looks when it’s falling through a very dense canopy of leaves in the forest? That’s what this yarn colour reminds me of. This is my first time using it, and I’m already surprised by how fine and delicate it is. It feels almost like laceweight or light light fingering. I’ve spent the past few weeks trying to keep “start-itis” at bay, but tonight I came home and just wanted to start on this one. I am already in love with this pattern - it is so well written which is a welcome relief after all the issues the Little Birds sweater has given me and all the edits I’m having to make to the Sylvi since I couldn’t get the gauge right. You know what I love? Patterns like this. All of the instructions are written out and put in the order in which I’ll need them, rather than having an important note on a whole other page from the section where I need to note it. At the end of each chart, she lets me know how many stitches I should have. I tell you, I love this designer and this pattern already and will immediately begin singing her praises from the rooftops.

6/10/10 - I am so in love with this pattern! I cannot believe how quickly this is working up. Literally, it’s just falling off of my needles. I’m on the final chart right now (minus the border) with just 8 rows to go - which means that I should be able to hammer this thing out some time tomorrow. I’m amazed, just amazed at how quickly this has gone. I love the stitch patterns, and this yarn is fantastic. If you haven’t yet, go out and buy this pattern. It’s totally 100% worth it.

6/12/10 - This would have been done last night, but I got all fussy with the bind-off. The picot BO just wasn’t doing it for me, so after I got about a third of the way through, I ripped back and started doing the k2tog bind-off I did for the Cleite shawl. But then I realized that I was binding off on the WS, and I really like the way that BO looks on the right side. So I ripped back again and thus, it was completed today! Now to block it :o)
