Notes

My ratings of the pattern are based on just having started. I might change my mind further on into the pattern.

9/7/12 getting ready to start the second section and charts. I hate charts!

9/8/12 Wow! This is so intense for me! I can knit only two rows and then need to take a break and stretch the kinks out of my neck! And I’m only on chart one!!! What’s the rest going to be like?!!!

9/10/12 This chart is sucking all the fun out of this knit!!! And I am still on chart 1!!! I can’t wait to finish this and then burn this pattern!!!

9/13/12 I have finished chart 1 and am ready to start chart 2A, B, and C. I think I’d rather poke myself in the eye with a sharp stick. By the way, that’s a Knit Kit with the tape measure pulled out to just past 12 inches so you can get an idea of size.

9/14/12 Had to buy another skein of Audrey Hepburn to finish the last few rows of red.

9/16/12 I’m almost finished with the first set of Catkins and I can honestly say it’s not that bad. Wait! Was that me talking? Yes, I did say the chart wasn’t so bad!!!

9/17/12 I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! There are 5 rows and the bind off left and, dare I say it? I really enjoyed the last chart 2 A, B, and C! Watching the progress of those little catkins grow has been fun. Now I can’t wait to block this and wear it to the fall fiber festivals. Hope I can find buttons worthy of its beauty.

9/18/12 It’s 3:30AM and I just finished binding off all those stitches! Blocking in the morning.

No two photos capture the true beauty of this shade of Audrey Hepburn red from Periwinkle Sheep. I happened to find 8 buttons in my button box that I collected over the years from the “extra button” that is sewn into blouses when I bought some shirts at a well known store. I’m really happy with the way this turned out and I’m even thinking (check to see if I’m sick) of other colorways to make another. But not too soon.

10/5/12 I have worn “Audrey” a few times now and noticed that the top button strains on the yarn so I decided to sew a small button behind the top button to reinforce it. It works much better now.
