Target gauge: 10 stitches and 14 rows = 4 inches in stockinette

First ball of yarn lasted half way through cowl.

Worked 10 repeats of cowl pattern instead of written 12 because it seemed like it was going to get too big. I want something that wears close to the neck for warmth. I also added a third buttonhole in the middle of the cowl, just in case.

I wish I’d knit at a smaller gauge; the malabrigo chunky gets drapey when blocked and I don’t have as dense a fabric as I’d like.

Finally blocked this on March 31. I’m going to seam the sleeves, like the way that looks. Now to find buttons…

I have some large orange buttons I love the look of, but I think I’ll have to use toggles instead. The button holes are pretty large, and since the fabric is drapey and heavy it is hard to keep them closed.

The buttons don’t stay closed super well, but it was good enough to model in. This is very warm until the slightest breeze blows up, then all the cold air gets in the sleeves and brrrrrrrr. Need to make the button holes smaller, or find toggle type buttons.
