This sweater was inspired by Erika Knight’s “Favorite Sweatshirt” from Men’s Knits but I did not follow her pattern. Instead, I simply took measurements and got to work! The sweater is all hemp and shown with +4 inches of ease. I went with a drop sleeve and deconstructed the sleeve just below the elbow--it was knit in two pieces and grafted together. The sleeves were set-in; main body was knit in the round and divided for front and back/shoulders; collar is a simple K5P5 rib picked up from the neck opening. I would be happy to share my pattern/measurements if folks are interested.

The hemp is a bit tricky to work with--this was a DK weight--but well worth the effort. It’s a terrific material for my guy because he runs hot and this is a nice medium layer. Pretty heavy, though! and also UV resistant--you know, all the nice things about hemp!
