Notes

My grandmother gave me this gorgeous wool from Nova Scotia. Inspired by urbangardener’s Rocky Road Cowl (moss stitch), I worked double moss stitch. When I swatched, 16 CO sts gave me 9” in length, and I knew I wanted about 50” of length (if it were flat) so the cowl would wrap around my neck twice. I cast on 92 sts (multiple of 4 for double moss) so it would be a little loose.

I used the knitted CO and worked 17 rounds with size 17 needles (12 mm Denise tips, not 12.75 mm as shown above). On round 18, I bound off in pattern with size 19 tips (15 mm).

As shown in the photo, I left only about an inch of tail when I cast on. After binding off, I had 16” of yarn left. (whew!)
