Notes

A friend and co-worker taught a Log Cabin class at the shop where we work. I hadn’t done this technique and decided to take the first class. So easy and such a great use of color, I finished the first rectangle in no time.

Okay, anybody who knows me, knows I usually have the attention span of a 5 year old. I just couldn’t see me making more rectangles the same, so I decided to go organic. I’m still doing one side at a time and binding off as that will add stability if I decide it’s a wall piece, but I’m adding short rows wherever I feel like it, and just generally having fun.

The center is one ball of Noro Kureyon, yummy! So far I’ve used a couple of colors of Manos wool, some old Tahki Chelsea Silk (teal), my really old and really bad lime green handspun, Tahki Donegal Tweed (light brown), a couple of anonymous wools, quite a bit of Brown Sheep Lambs Pride, some Elsebeth Lavold Chunky Al (orange), and some old multi-strand alpaca.

With my stash, I could make this big enough to cover half the town I live in, but I don’t think I want it quite that big ;-)

Right now, it’s about 23” x 28” depending on where you measure. I’m not sure where it will stop, but I’m sure it will let me know.
