I designed this pattern for www.knit-a-square.com

We send knit and crochet 8 inch (20cm) squares to South Africa. There they are sewn into blankets and distributed to orphans and other children in need of a warm hug.

South Africa gets very cold during the winter, often close to freezing. Blankets made from squares coming from caring hands all over the world are amazingly beautiful.

Please use this pattern as you like, and consider also sending a few squares to South Africa!
