unblocked gauge: 24st/4” x 17rows/2”
blocked gauge: 23st/4” x 18rows/2”
due to gauge being looser (and liking the fabric), sizing down. the 42” size should make a 45.5” (262st5.75 in new gauge). Bust measurement is 44 1/2.
Cast on for 42”. Knit anytime it has a distance, use 46” size.
12 increases for armhole increases instead of 11. Picking up one additional stitch on the shoulders which lets me end up with 44” size. CO one extra under arms on each side of the stitch marker. after 12 rows under arms, start first side increase only on the non-lace side; then start the lace pattern 5 rows after that. (increase is on the 2nd row of the lace pattern, so this works fine).
once the lace pattern starts, begin working flat and insert the lace as intarsia.
continued increases all the way down instead of stopping after a certain number.
picked up stitches as suggested, but performed short rows for a cap sleeve with more coverage on the top of the armhole. 1st picot bindoff on the top portion of the sleeve.
2x2 rib around neckband. 1x1 twisted rib at hem and armhole edge.
picked up and knit a button band in garter stitch on the open side. seamed down permanently, with a 4-6” slit at the bottom. may go back and add buttons.
