I saw a someone wearing this at knit night and had to have one! So far it’s smooth sailing, as long as I actually read the instructions instead of assuming I know what they say. ;)
8/1- While looking up this project to see how folks figured out the eyelet increases, I found this page that links to an automatic figurer-thing, as well as tips on choosing the size best suited to you. Based on that, I decided to rip back to the beginning and knit a smaller size. So, I’ll be casting on again tonight during movie time. At least this time I’ll know how the raglan increases go!
8/19- Back to the eyelet increase row again.
11/13- I’m about 6” into the gull stitch part of the body. It’s good take-along knitting now that the increasing is over and I know how the lace pattern works.
11/28- It’s soaking in the washer now. I’m laying out on the sweater dryer and then going to bed. With any luck, it’ll be dry be morning. I found that casting off with size 8 needles gave a perfect edge, neither too tight nor too loose.
12/7/10- Didn’t like the sleeve length so I ripped back and added 2 more lace repeats. Decided that 3/4 length sleeves really didn’t work on me since they flare out where the garter stitch cuff is. I ripped back and started decreasing the sleeves on the underside by not doing the yarn overs in that repeat every 8th round. After 4 decreases it was long enough, so I will do the last pattern round without any yarn overs, then knit the garter stitch cuffs.
12/11- All done and blocked. The sleeves are perfect!
