DD went to Lion Brand in NY to buy this yarn specially for me and brought it back with her to Scotland. Duly delivered to me in France last week when she arrived for a holiday.
Had a struggle with the chart to start with - totally my fault; as I didn’t notice the ‘no knit’ stitches. After a bit of Ravelry help (thanks siamesekitty and ameliaknits), I’m off…. 10 rows done.
I wanted to knit this so badly, but am not finding it much pleasure. I am not a lace knitter and the colour is quite dark for evening knitting in artificial light. I also think I will run out of yarn… as I have no intention of going though the the difficult process of acquiring any more I will start decreasing when the first cone runs out and hope for the best.
14 October: ran out of yarn on row 147. I think the yarn quantitites are wrong for this pattern.
July 2012 Update It has taken me two years to feel strong enough to look at this again. I couldn’t face continuing withe the pattern and running out of yarn. I so wanted to knit with this yarn and my daughter went out of her way to buy it.So today it got frogged! I thought it might be difficult but actually only one break in the yarn. Have started the Dusty night scarf today and so far so good.
