I wanted to savor all the time spent as Artist-in-Residence at Glacier National Park iin June 2023. This meant consciously looking, observing and being present for what I was seeing and doing. This scarf is a visual representation of what I did and saw during my time living in the park. This artwork and pattern was produced as Artist-in-Residence at Glacier National Park.

The scarf is a garter stitch scarf that records activities I did every day.
One stitch = 5 minutes
12 x 24 hrs = 288 sts
One day = 2 rows of garter stitch x 26 days = 52 rows
The scarf is read from right to left and from bottom to top (as you read knitting).

Each activity has a different color:

Sleep = Blue
Hike = Blue-green
Daydream = Green
Design = Yellow-green
Hygiene = Yellow
Sketch = Orange
Eat = Red-orange
Knit = Red
Converse = Red-purple
Drive = Purple
Read = Gray

In addition, add a gem bead each time wildlife is spotted.

Small mammal = Orange Quartz
Large mammal = Red Coral
Bird = Purple Amethyst
Arachnid = Black Lava
