Extremely quick and easy pattern!
I did convert it to knitting in the round using 2 humongous size 15 circular needles. It might have been easier to knit this one flat, but I do no like seams on my hats, let alone bulky ones.

Yarn held double. Used just about exactly 2 skeins, but I added a few extra garter rows before and during shaping the crown.
I believe there is a small errata in the pattern:
when it says for rows 11-18 to knit as 3-8, it really should be 3-10.
