Sept. 5th
- Changes to pattern
- Not doing back increase/decrease thing
- Making this with 1.5” ease (size 6 gives 1” ease, adding more ease using the button band)
- Put in 6 stitches for the steek
- When dividing up front and back I put the beginning marker at the beginning of the steek, knit 6, end steek, knit 1 pm, knit 62 pm, knit 31 so it ends up being: “steek, right front, back, left front”
- Will be adding a button band after steeking
- Will be rearranging cables to fit around steek
Sept. 9th
- Knit 40 rows that would normally be the increase/decrease in the back.
- Moving on to the side increases (Derp. Finished those quickly, was only 6 rows for this size)
- Now moving on to knitting the length of the body. Currently measures at 11 inches from cast on edge to last row of side increases.
Sept. 13th
- Finished knitting the body up to 18” Going to start the sleeves.
Sept. 14th
- Need to add 4” more to the body. Had the recipient try it on.
Sept. 29-30th
- I had to take a break from this project to clear up some other wips. Now making the first sleeve.
Oct. 13th
- A bit disappointed in myself that it’s taking me this long to make the cardigan, but I just wanted to work on some other things. First sleeve is done.
Oct. 15th-16th
- Started second sleeve, finished increases.
Oct. 17th
- Started yoke
Oct. 18th-19th
- Finished Owls. Left to do: one row of decreases, ribbing on collar, button bands. I plan on doing steeked button bands, after I saw someone blog about it. It looks like fun, and easier to do that having to plan where everything is while knitting the fabric.
Oct. 24th-25th
-Steeked and knitted first sandwich!
Things I Learned:
- Always use odd number of steek stitches
