This is a super easy, quick knit which I improvised a couple of weeks ago. I had a really lovely ball of yarn lying around which wasn’t big enough for a big project but which I really wanted to use to make something for myself. And this is what I came up with!
There are two different textures this stitch comes out with. What I’d intended as the front has little raised bumps spread across it but I discovered that the wrong side looks lovely as wavy lines are made. And this is how to create the stitch:
Cast on a multiple of 4
Row 1: Knit 1, Purl 3, repeat till end of row
Row 2: Knit 3, Purl 1, repeat till end of row
Repeat these two rows.
Row 5: Purl 2, ()Knit 1, Purl 3, repeat from () till 2 from end, Knit 1, Purl 1
Row 6: Knit 1, ()Purl 1, Knit 3, repeat from () till 3 from end, Purl 1, Knit 2.
Repeat these 2 rows.
Repeat these 8 rows to create pattern.
For this headband I cast on 20 stitches and kept knitting until it was long enough to fit around my head. I hope you enjoy it!
