Notes

4/7/13 My first stack is a kitchen set that’s red/white/blue themed. So far I have a potholder and a half finished. I wasn’t planning on pot holders, but some of the cotton yarn I bought is striped, not variegated, so I doubled it up to get a more interesting color combo going on. It ended up really thick and seems like it’d make a great pot holder.

5/1/13 Rw&b theme, 2 pot holders and a dish cloth are finished (except for a white border on one holder), and on earthy theme, two wash cloths are finished, one to go plus ribbons and tags.

6/26/13 The sets were a hit. The Red/White/Blue one got snatched up almost immediately and right after that my mom snagged the other one as her prize. I’m loving that green ribbon and the way that brown yarn looks in seed stitch. Pity seed stitch is such a pain in the arse.

The tags were a ton of fun to make and they might have been my favorite part. Pagy/Yumi helped me a ton with the layout of them.

Every year my family reunion has been hosted by my mom (and now my boyfriend and I have stepped up since she had her stroke) and for the past few we’ve been having little raffles and some people just bring little gifts to put on the gift table. When your name is called, you go pick something out (unless you won something like farthest traveled, oldest, youngest, etc, in which case there’s sometimes a specific gift.)

I’m planning on knitting up 2 or 3 stacks of wash cloths or dish cloths/pot holders as my contribution.
