3/27/10 finally done!
3/21/10 I’ve spent 2 weeks on finishing this jacket and I’m still not done! Just now finishing up sewing the collar down. Bought some plain black buttons since I couldn’t find anything too fancy that would work. Need to finish collar and sew on buttons and I’ll be done….
If I did this project again, I would:
-
knit the bottom in all one piece.
-
Use a solid boucle yarn, lining up the stripes was a big waste of yarn
-
Knit a box pleat for the center back to go with the sleeve box pleat.
3/18/10 Picked up stitches and started knitting collar. Decided to do the slip stitch after collar done. Need to find some nice buttons for this. Something dressy. Hopefully this will be finished in time for shooting the next demo episode.
3/17/10 Last night, finished sewing seams and weaving in ends.
3/10/10 Second sleeve done. Really like the box pleat, should have done this box pleat in the center back.
2/28/10 Well I started the first sleeve and frogged after a few inches. I knew I wasn’t making gauge with this project (even though I went down 4 sizes) but I was doing the medium targeting the large size. This didn’t come true for the sleeves and they were turning out almost 8 inches too big. Recalculated and cast on 66 stitches instead. Will follow directions for smallest size. I’ll capture notes here so that I can remember what to do with the second sleeve when I get there.
2/25/10 Back on again. Trying to finish right front today so I can start the sleeves. Maybe I can still make it by 2/28?
2/17 10- Finished left front, working on right front. had to drop this to do some deadline knitting
2/12/10 - putting this in for the Ravelympics - have the back done and one side in progress. Still worried about the sizing. I never really met gauge, it’s bigger than it should be.
1/1/08 I just started swatching
1/23 Getting totally frustrated since I think I’m getting gauge and then the measurements are off by several inches. I’ve frogged it twice now moving all the way down to needle size 6 US when 9US is recommended! Argh!
