Using one skein each of red and navy acrylic/wool.

2x2 ribbing is so much faster for me than 1x1; I’m going to do 2x2 on #6s for the first 4 1/2” of the neck and then switch to 1x1. Will try #4s for that and see if I can match gauge.

The transition from 2x2 to 1x1 is smooth; I managed to maintain the diameter of the turtleneck! I’m a little proud.

Not so proud of all those yarn ends. Emily looks on with dismay. I was too busy playing with stripes. There was a knot in the yarn. Blah, blah, blah… it didn’t occur to me until later that I could have done Russian joins. I tried felted joins (split-splices) too. I was surprised with how well they worked with an acrylic/wool blend.

No worries. I’m very good at weaving in ends.

A wide red stripe balances the narrow ones at the other end. Only a few more navy rounds left to knit. Must check remaining yardage before I continue on, so I’ll be sure to have enough yarn for binding off. Almost done… the anticipation builds!
