Jan. 23, 2013 - So cushy, smooshy, comfy! I love it!

Just can’t figure how I have so much tarn left!! The pile weighs 1 lb. 4 oz., which just happens to be the same as the weight of the bathmat. That means I used only half of all the tarn that I made, or about five-and-a-half t-shirts worth.

The only explanation I can come up with is that the designer must have used all size Medium t-shirts, while I used 3 M, 3 L, 4 XL and 1 XXL. ??

Jan. 11, 2013 - Cut eleven old t-shirts into 1/2” wide strips and cast-on 50 stitches for a 19” wide rug.

Using this no-sew method, I’m joining random strips from about 18 to 60” long.

Plain old garter stitch, so easy, but growing slowly because of the awkwardness of working with such large needles. I like the squishiness of the knitted t-shirt fabric - perfect for a bathmat.
