From the pattern I couldn’t tell exactly how many stitches I needed in my beginning chain so I did 200. My notes are bad - I think I used 187 of them to get a five-point 35” wide blanket.

Crocheting this went Very Slowly compared to my usual speedy charity ripples, so I don’t plan to make Cascades by the dozen, but the unique results were worth the extra time spent. The little blocks of stitches combined with working in only the back loop add another interesting dimension.
