Nov. 11 - Ta-Dah!

I’ve finished my Express V-Stitch Ripple in time for Veteran’s Day, just as I’d hoped. :-)

Do I like it? YES, I Do!! Beautiful visual texture and using two shades each of royal blue and red just makes it more interesting.

My small 36” x 56” blanket, 77 rows, took 28 ounces of yarn. A perfect fit for RHSS - four 7 oz. skeins, one each of four colors would be 28 oz.

Every additional ‘peak’ adds another 4 1/2” in blanket width - you can make whatever size you want.

Nov. 7, 2012 - My V-Stitch - So Far

The beginning chain of 221 seemed incredibly long at nearly six feet! but things looked better and better as I continued to follow the pattern.

My blog reporting, as usual, is running far behind my reality. I think I’ll make deadline! I think I will, I think I will…

Nov. 2, 2012 - The Express V-Stitch Ripple Pattern

I bought a V-Stitch blanket at a thrift store - for the foster kids. You can read more about it here.

Didn’t even know that’s what the stitch was called for sure, but Mara, SummerMelody here in Ravelry, recognized it and was able to write up the pattern just from looking at my blog pics of the blanket! A-Mazing!!

The free pattern is here.

Making my first with red, royal blues, light blue and white. I’m a little further along than having just picked the yarn, which is a good thing cuz, I’d like to finish by Veteran’s Day.
