Love it!
Nov. 23, 2012 post - Here’s my Photo Tutorial on the method I used to ‘climb’ my Jacob’s Ladder’s chains.
It was obvious from my blanket’s rumpled appearance and curly points that I’d crocheted at least the chains, if not the entire blanket, too tightly! sigh.
So I ran it through the clothes dryer with a load of towels, which helped a little. The Red Heart Plush yarn didn’t seem to enjoy the trip, so, rather than send it through a second time, I pinned my ripple down and turned to my steamer.
Wow… What an Improvement!
Next, with sewing needle and burgundy thread I’ll tack down the loop of yarn I somehow missed and turn each of the two-inch slits in the points at the base of the blanket’s ‘ladders’ into 2 one-inch slits.
Lots of fuss, but it’s still a beautiful blanket!
With 87 rows, my blanket’s about 56” long. At 36” wide it’s a little narrower than the pattern’s 39” size Small, another sign that I worked too tightly.

Making this as part of the Ripple Mania CAL, going on in the Underground Crafter Group, a great opportunity to try this new pattern! Making simple stripes to show off it’s interesting technique/texture.
Using pale rose (from the Bobbles! sweater - where this blanket’s official name, Bobble-less #2, comes from), medium antique rose, RHSS Claret and Red Heart Plush Wine, plus some cream.
Certainly not impressive-looking while piled in my lap, but more interesting once I spread it out to see Jacob’s ten-stitch chain ‘ladders’, which I’ll ‘climb’ once I’ve crocheted all but the blanket’s last row.
