Inspired by a photo ad for a striped summer tee, I intended to mix varying width stripes of ‘Light Periwinkle’ Fiesta, which contains specks of pink and green, with a few different shades of navy.

But that gave a ratio of only 5 rows periwinkle to 8 rows navy, which sounded pretty dark.

So I dug out a couple partial skeins of solid blues, 4 oz. total, very similar to the periwinkle and then I was good to go.

I didn’t even try to duplicate the complicated striping of that top, but I like it!

As usual I modified the Rustic Ripple pattern - used an H hook with only one strand of yarn and increased each run of double crochet stitches to ten stitches.
