Notes

Some might frown on treating several different dark blue yarns as if they are all the same color, but I think the subtle variations make this simple design just a little more interesting. This worked doubly good as I was able use up several scrap balls of dark blues – still working at reducing my Big mound of blue scraps – and three partial skeins of bright yellows in this one blanket. Yay!

The pale yellow is primarily ‘Primrose’ Fashion Knit. This yarn’s label promotes it as being New and Improved! with Aloe and tells that it was voted ‘Best of Innovations in 2001′ by the Hobby Industry Association. Obviously, my opinion is far less important than that of the HIA, – HAha – but I did find Fashion Knit a real pleasure to use; rather than drying the skin on my hands, like many acrylics do, this yarn actually softened it. nice.

Starry Starry Night’s striping pattern is very simple: 2 rows Dark Blue / 2 Bright Yellow / 1 Light Yellow.

As usual I modified the Rustic Ripple pattern - used an H hook with only one strand of yarn and increased each run of double crochet stitches to ten stitches.
