Named after the L.L. Bean towel in the old catalog photo which inspired this color combo.

My similar-looking mix includes Red Heart Super Saver ‘Country Blue’, ‘White’, ‘Dusty Teal’, a couple of anonymous scrapballs of burgundy, and the dark blue/green I got for 50 cents last October’s Historical Society tag sale.

I set my stripes in the same order as the pile of towels in the photo. Repeating a five-color sequence over and over isn’t exciting, but I still find the finished blanket rather striking!

As usual I modified the Rustic Ripple pattern - used an H hook with only one strand of yarn and increased each run of double crochet stitches to ten stitches.
