I’m going to make as many Candy Cane Ripples as I can over the next several weeks, so they can be given to new foster children during the holidays.
I googled ‘candy cane flavors’ for inspiration!
Each Finished Candy Cane Ripple Will Be Shown on its Own Project Page:
1 - Cinnamon Candy Cane
2 - Peppermint?, nope, it’s definitely Strawberry
3 - Spearmint
4 - Black Cherry
5 - Watermelon
6 - Raspberry
7 - Wintergreen
8 - Peppermint
9 - Christmas Candy
10 - Sour Cherry
11 - Lime
12 - Cranberry
13 - Winter Mint
14 - Bubble Gum
15 - Mixed Berries
(A link to the Jan. 2012 blog post showing all fifteen is listed below.)
I’ve gathered seven pounds of Red, Green and White yarn (Red Heart?) from a Huge blanket I unraveled, plus five recently donated 8 oz. skeins and a few misc. “holiday yarns” from my charity stash.
The green and the white is Caron Christmas Glitter, which has a fine silver thread, and the tan, which Caron calls “Lace”, is Caron Victorian Christmas Gold, with, of course, a fine golden thread. The two matching variegated on the left also have gold. Kids love ripples made with sparkle and glitz!
Yarn additions:
- bought 5 thrifty skeins of RHSS: 1 cherry, 1 hunter, and 3 burgundy
- received a gift of some more red, white and bright green
