Notes

Moda Dea Cheri, a novelty yarn, was the start to this ripple. It was too limp when crocheted alone so I held it with a strand of sport weight… just right!

Although my rule of three rows per ounce works well for acrylics similar to RHSS, it’s not always reliable for novelties which can be much denser. I really needed a better way to measure yarn usage! I have finally figured out that it takes 15 yards of yarn, any yarn, to crochet a ripple row. Oh. My. This is so much more accurate!

The math said I needed four balls of Moda Dea Cheri for twenty rows and that’s exactly what I used!… leaving me with two balls of Cheri for another ripple. YAY!

As usual, I modified the Rustic Ripple pattern. I used one strand instead of two, so crocheted it with an H hook. Then, to make it a little wider I added another dc stitch to each uphill or downhill run, making them all ten stitches long.
