A retro ripple implies retro yarns: a seven-ounce skein of Meadowbrook cream, an unfamiliar brand and the last three ounces I had of Famous Makers’ Odd Lots dark brown

The darker olive, excuse me, but shouldn’t it be ‘avocado’, a much newer yarn by Vanna’s Choice, fits into this vintage color scheme so well no one would suspect that it isn’t a vintage yarn unless they felt how much softer and fluffier it is.

Acrylic yarns have certainly improved over the years!

As usual, I modified the Rustic Ripple pattern. I used one strand instead of two, so crocheted it with an H hook. Then, to make it a little wider I added another dc stitch to each uphill or downhill run, making them all ten stitches long.
