Notes

So happy to have found these five colors of long discontinued yarns in my charity stash. They create a smooth and gentle gradation from yellow-orange right through to rust! But only 15 1/2 ounces total weight, si what to put with them?

The best I could come up with was a 10 ounce partial skein of navy.

With 25 1/2 oz. total there’s a mere ounce and a half to spare, cuz one of my kid-sized ripples takes 24 oz. I’ve got some very careful arithmetic and chart making to do before I’m ready to put hook to yarn.

Anxious to see how this one turns out!

Followed Version 2 of ‘My Plan’. Once I crocheted the mid-point stripe of each color I weighed how much of that yarn I had left to see if I had used more or less of it than expected. I have ‘extra’ light orange and light rust, but will run short on orange and navy. Adjustments must be made!

Introducing Pumpkin, a pretty close match to KolorKraft’s tangerine. I’ll alternate the two oranges for the rest of the blanket.

Also going to make more two-row stripes, so I can get to row 84 before I run out of navy!

Yowza!! Certainly no one will ever say this ripple boring! lol.

I’m so pleased with how well-balanced it turned out considering its ever-changing stripes. :-)

I modified the Rustic Ripple pattern using only one strand of yarn and increased each run of stitches to ten.
