March 13, 2013 - Which End Up
DH’s choices are Peek-a-Boo or Fully Exposed Toes. I suppose it depends on the weather! HAha
The patterns are both One Size when it comes to the length of the instep. Worn the way the designers intend, I think they could stand to be an inch longer on DH’s size 11 1/2 feet but he says they’re fine. So I say ‘Done!’ and time to weave in the yarn ends. yay!
DH thinks his Birthday Socks are very cushy and so Wonderfully Warm that he doesn’t even notice the open toes and heels. Double Yay!
March 3, 2014 - Delayed by Socks
DH wears through the heels of the socks I knit of fingeringweight sock yarns and the ones I sewed from sweater sleeves far too quickly!
My Solution - knit socks of Worsted Weight yarn with No Heels!! HAha.
Yoga Socks have no heels or toes. They’re essentially a tube with a horizontal slit which opens wide for the heel.
I combined the ideas I liked best from two free yoga sock patterns written for worsted weight yarns.
One Done, One to Go.
Hope these fit DH and that he doesn’t mind the missing parts. If they don’t fit or if he does mind, I’ll wear ‘eml!! - My foot, my Pink sock.
